Before Noxus: Mordekaiser’s dominion
The history of this place starts before the Noxian state. The warlord who would become Mordekaiser conquered, died and returned through dark arts. During his renewed rule he raised the Immortal Bastion, a fortress that accumulated power, secrets and suffering. His earlier empire and the later Noxus should not be treated as the same regime.

An alliance and a betrayal
Mordekaiser’s biography attributes his downfall to an alliance of Noxii tribes and betrayal within his own circle. LeBlanc’s account connects that defeat with a pale sorceress who aided the tribes. Her identity and intentions are surrounded by deception: presenting every legend about her as certainty would erase part of the mystery.

A new empire around the Bastion
Noxus’s regional account remembers the Noxii as tribes who took the ancient city at the center of the future nation. Instead of abandoning it, they built power of their own around it. Threatened from different directions, they expanded their dominion and made the fortress the heart of an increasingly ambitious society. Mordekaiser’s defeat did not remove his legacy.

From the founding to modern struggles
The Noxian ideal of strength allows people from diverse backgrounds to rise, but coexists with ancient houses and hidden powers. The Black Rose provides a thread of intrigue across different rulers. Darkwill, the invasion of Ionia and Swain’s rise belong to later chapters; they are not the empire’s beginning. This sequence connects regional and biographical accounts without inventing exact dates where the sources do not establish them.
